UK ChiMES

The UK Childhood Meningitis and Encephalitis study (ChiMES) recruited 3,002 children ≤16 years of age from 31 UK hospitals with suspected meningitis and/or encephalitis between December 2012 and June 2016. The aim of the study was to better characterise the presentation of childhood encephalitis in general and its specific aetiologies and the context it occurs.
