‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist marks World Encephalitis Day at Liverpool concert

‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist and singer, Aliki Chrysochou, will mark World Encephalitis Day with a special concert at Liverpool’s Everyman theatre.

Hosted by the University of Liverpool’s Institute of Infection and Global Health and the Encephalitis Society, Aliki will be performing and being interviewed by Guardian journalist Simon Hattenstone.

Both Aliki and Simon suffered with encephalitis and will talk about their experiences.

Joining them is Olympic gold medallist swimmer, Rebecca Adlington, whose sister was an encephalitis patient, and former Emmerdale actor, Matthew Bose, whose close friend had the disease.

Professor Tom Solomon, Head of the Institute of Infection and Global Health, will discuss the latest research into encephalitis and what has been achieved by scientists in the field.

The event will take place on Sunday, 22 February, at the Everyman Theatre, Hope Street. For further information and to reserve tickets for the event, please visit: http://www.encephalitis.info/awareness/awakenings-concert/
